Chelsea FC to play a friendly match with Manchester City in America

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce that they will be returning to America at the end of this season to play Manchester City.

The club will face the current Barclays Premier League champions at the Busch Stadium, home of the Cardinals MLB team in St Louis, on May 23 with a 7.30pm local time kick-off.

It makes for an exciting end to the campaign, which also began in America last summer when we played matches in Seattle, Philadelphia and Miami as well as New York, and presents another opportunity for our Stateside support to see the Blues in action before we travel to Asia to prepare for the 2013/14 season.

Chelsea Chief Executive Ron Gourlay said

'It's an excellent opportunity for the club to be able to return to America so quickly after our successful tour there last July,' he said.

'The club and the players have enjoyed regularly travelling to the US and also helping to create long-term growth and sustainability of soccer in the country through our super club network.

'We will face the strongest opposition in Manchester City and I am sure we will provide a competitive and entertaining match in St Louis.'
