FIFA World cup qualifier: Eritrean Maeruf Kherseed to take charge of Eagles/Namibia match
World football-governing body, FIFA has named Mensur Maeruf Kherseed
from Eritrea as referee for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying match
between Nigeria and Namibia, slated for Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek
on Wednesday, June 12.
Maeruf Kherseed, 40, became an international referee in 2008.
He will be assisted by compatriot Berhe Tesfagiorghis O’Michael, 38,
who is Assistant Referee 1, and who became an international assistant
referee in 2004.
Hassan Egueh Yacin from Djibouti will be the Assistant Referee 2, with
another Eritrean, Luelseghed Ghebremichael as Fourth Official.
Ghebremichael, 41, became an international referee in 2004.
FIFA also appointed Mady Kanoso Bora from Madagascar as Referee
Assessor and Abbasi Ssendyowa from Uganda as Match Commissioner.
The match has been slated to kick off at the artifical turf of Sam
Nujoma Stadium as from 8pm Namibia time.
