Auditors’ Report: NFF Queries NPL

The Nigeria Football Federation has queried the leadership of the Nigeria Premier League in respect of allegations of inappropriate management of funds related to broadcast right fees, as contained in the report of its auditors.

Speaking in Abuja at the weekend, NFF President Aminu Maigari said: “The NFF is highly concerned for the integrity of the Nigeria Premier League, which has been built to a presentable brand as a result of over 20 years of hard work, and which was recently rated as best in Africa.

“We cannot afford to fold our arms and remain silent over such a matter that directly attacks the credibility of an important aspect of the Nigeria game.

“The NFF is deeply concerned and we are determined to get to the root of this matter,” said Maigari.

Officials confirmed at the weekend that the Nigeria Football Federation is only awaiting a detailed response from the leadership of the Nigeria Premier League before taking further action.

Hulk Hogans sex tape

-Earlier this year he revealed that he wasn't sure who he made a sex tape with, but maybe now Hulk Hogan will be able to solve the mystery.

The 59-year-old star may be shocked to find out that the video is now available on the internet and the woman starring in it has been identified.

According to Radar Online, the obliging female is Heather Clem, who is the ex-wife of Hulk's best friend, Bubba the Love Sponge.

Caught out! Hulk Hogan's sex tape has now leaked onto the internet

The website has reported that the tape is 30 minutes long, and that Gawker.com has obtained a one-minute clip of it.

In the clip, the professional wrestler can be seen engaging in a sex act with the brunette.

It has also been said that Hulk receives a call from his son Nick during the bedroom antics, but instead of answering the phone, he responds: 'F*** no!'

Following their intimate moment, Hulk begins dressing himself before telling the woman that he 'felt like a pig' after eating just ten minutes before they filmed.

Happier times: Hulk revealed earlier this year that the woman in the sex tape must have been a brunette he 'ran wild' with following his split from wife Linda

As he leaves the room, he turns to the woman and says: 'You’re a hot commodity.'

It is thought that the tape was filmed shortly after Hulk's split from his wife Linda in 2007.

Speaking about the time the tape must have been made, Hulk told TMZ.com in March: 'It wasn't just one brunette I was running wild for a few months.'

He also said: 'I don't even remember people's names much less girls.'

The wrestling legend said the tape must be at least five years old because he has been with current wife Jennifer McDaniel that long. Via DM

Orlando Cruz is the first professional boxer still fighting to announce he is gay

Puerto Rican featherweight boxer Orlando Cruz has become the first openly gay man in the sport's history, the man ranked fourth in his weight class describing himself as a 'proud gay man.'

Cruz admits he had initial reservations about coming out, but is now relieved he took the decision.

"I developed physically and mentally to take such a big step in my life and in my profession, which is boxing, knowing that it would have pros and cons, highs and lows in this sport that is so macho," he said.

"I kept this hidden for many, many years."

His announcement comes two weeks before the 31-year-old left-hander challenges Mexican boxer Jorge Pazos for the WBO Latino title. Cruz is ranked as the World Boxing Organization's No. 4 featherweight fighter and is 18-2-1 with nine knockouts.

Cruz said he met with psychologists and others before making the announcement, adding he has the full support of his family, trainer and manager. He praised his mother and sister for their unconditional love and said his father has always backed him.

"Like every father, he wants his son to be a full-blooded man," Cruz said.

"But he is aware of my preference, my taste."

Pedro Julio Serrano, spokesman for the U.S. based National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, praised Cruz for his decision and said it breaks stereotypes that gay people are not involved in sports like boxing.

"It also gives a lot of hope to young gays who can see in him the integrity and bravery to be who you are and face a society that is often intolerant, especially in this type of sport," he said.

Reaction to Cruz's announcement was largely positive across social media, with many praising him for taking what they called a brave step given the sport's violent history. Among those who sent messages of support was Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin, who announced he was gay in 2010.

Some Twitter messages expressed concern for Cruz's safety and wondered whether other boxers will be reluctant to fight him. Dommys Delgado, president of the Boxing Commission of Puerto Rico, brushed aside those concerns.

"Orlando has proven to be an excellent boxer with very good chances of becoming a world champion," she said. "We do know that it is a very macho sport. Those who don't want to fight with him, well, don't fight."

The only other professional boxer who was quoted as saying that he had relations with men and women was U.S. Virgin Islander Emile Griffith, who told The New York Times in 2005 that he struggled with his sexuality. His comments came decades after he ended his 18-year career as a pro boxer.

Griffith is best known for his 1962 fight against Cuban Benny Paret, who taunted Griffith with gay slurs before the bout. Griffith knocked him out, and Paret died 10 days later.

Cruz said he is prepared for the fallout from his announcement, saying many boxers had already suspected he was gay but gave him privacy.

"I've been fighting for more than 24 years and as I continue my ascendant career, I want to be true to myself," he said. "I have always been and always will be a proud gay man."

Mike Tyson Barred From New Zealand

-Mike Tyson has been barred from New Zealand by government ministers who revoked an entry permit for his upcoming speaking tour.

At first the former heavyweight champion was granted special permission to enter the country despite his rape conviction. However, the decision was reversed because a children’s health charity withdrew its support for his controversial visit.

Tyson’s promoter Max Markson says Mike is “disappointed” by the Government’s decision to revoke his visa.

Markson says that although Tyson has been convicted of rape he has ‘rebuilt his life.’

In 1992 Tyson was convicted of raping teenager Desiree Washington in Indiana and served three years in prison.

Mario Balotelli and Rafaela Fico are back together

Soon after model Raffaella Fico announced she was pregnant with Mario Balotelli’s baby, the soccer star snubbed her and demanded a DNA test.

A war of words then ensued between the two in the Italian press but now it seems the two have reconciled.

The Manchester City striker, who dumped Fico back in April tells the press in a statement, ‘I have decided to try again with Raffaella. The DNA test has not been performed and has nothing to do with my decision.’

‘In any case, I would’ve asked for the test in that situation with anyone, not just Raffaella.’

He continued, ‘I am sorry for everything that has happened over the last few months and above all for what has been said and written.’

‘I ask once again for you all to respect our private life that in future must remain private, a pledge taken by me and Raffaella.’

Glad to see the couples working things out.

NIGERIA: Keshi Insists No Automatic Shirts

Super Eagles Head Coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, has again insisted that there will be no partiality between home-based stars and those based abroad in the selection of the final team that will face Liberia, October 13 in Calabar.

“I know that 15 players are coming from Europe but we already have 21 of you here, what we expect is that you go out there and prove yourself during training and leave the rest to me. No matter how fantastic players are in Europe and in their clubsides, they have to come here to prove that they are good enough to start and if those of you that are here show that you are better you will start against Liberia”, Keshi told the players at the resumed training of the team in Abuja on Monday.

He warned that those who fail to measure up will be immediately dropped because of the seriousness of the game at hand but assured the players that there will be no sentiments in the selection of players. “Prove here on the pitch that you want to play and you will be there on October 13”, he assured.
As if heeding Keshi’s call, newcomers, Bassey Ezekiel and Brendon Ogbu shone like a million star in Monday’s opening training. Central defender Kingsley Udoh, was also in his elements same for Ohanduku Ogbu, but it was Ezekiel that was the star of the opening day that was superintended by Keshi and his four assistants.

The team continues training on Tuesday with two sessions at the Training Pitch of the Abuja National Stadium.

Nigeria: Two Super Eagles players dropped out of camp ahead Liberia Match

It was good and the not too good news on Monday morning when the national team; Super Eagles resumed training for the October 13 duel against the Lone Star of Liberia in Calabar.

As expected all the players invited save for the Sunshine Stars duo of Izu Azuka and Solomon Kwambe, beat the Sunday evening deadline and were part of the training session at the training pitch of the Abuja National Stadium. “They have special permission to stay away for now”, declared Head Coach, StephenKeshi of the Sunshine Stars duo, who are preparing to host Egyptian giants, Al Ahly Nationale this weekend in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.

The not too good news however is that midfield ace, Gabriel Reuben and his Kano Pillars teammate, Papa Idris, have yet to recover well enough to be part of the team that will confront Liberia on October 13. Reuben suffered a groin injury during the finals of the Federations Cup in Lagos, while Idris has been battling a nagging knee injury, which has slowed down the usually pacy central defender.

After Monday morning’s training, Keshi and his crew had a lengthy meeting after which it was decided that the two players should be excused, going by the crucial nature of the game at hand. They have since left camp and would be replaced by Heartland’s Kalu Orji and Stanley Okoronkwo of Sharks FC of Port Harcourt. “It was a painful decision to let the two players go, but we have to look at the future of the players and the fact that we will need the two of them at the South Africa 2013 Nations Cup, that is why we have said we should give them more time to go and get themselves healed. After the game against Liberia, they should be back in the team”, Head Coach Stephen Keshi explained
