Manchester United to sign a 3 years old kid, Charlie Jackson

At the age of 3, Charlie Jackson was spotted by Manchester United scouts after he impressed them with his skills and tricks combined with magnetic dribbling. However it wasn’t until 5 that Manchester United scouts decided he was old enough to make it to their development centre for training.

Charlie Jackson is from Denton, Greater Mancheser and he lives with his father Andy, mother Claire and 12 year old brother Jake.Despite his parents being the fans of the blue side of Manchester, they were so proud that their son were selected by the Manchester United scouts.

Andy said: “His idols are Joe Hart and Mario Balotelli and at first he was mortified that he was having to train with United but he seems to be getting over that a bit now. He loves training with the club and it’s an amazing opportunity for him. Everywhere we go people notice him because of his football talent, whether it’s on the park or on holiday. People just stand there and watch him, they can’t believe he’s only five because he’s so good.”

Andy didn’t forget to praise his son’s abilities,
He added: “He has power in his left and right foot. For a little boy he’s so strong, he’s unbelievable. Me and my wife had to get him a bicycle to try to divert his attention because he was getting so obsessed with football.”
Charlie was first spotted by Manchester United scouts while he was training with Footytotz, which is a community football programme for both boys and girls. Charlie trains with United once a week along with Footytotz in Denton which provides coaching for young children and he attends classes at Manor Park Primary School.

However his father Andy Jackson had something more to say,
He said: “My wife mithered me to take him to Footytotz to begin with because she thought he was really good and was sick of him running around the house with a ball. It ended up being the best thing we ever did. We haven’t set him any long-term goals. The moment he stops enjoying football is the moment we look at doing something else with him. There’s no pressure on him at all but it would be nice if he plays for City one day.”

Manchester United are well known for bringing up young stars from their academy and will the 5 year old Charlie Jackson be the star of the future, would he be the one your kids would look upto? Time will tell.
