The Home-based
Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on their West African counterpart on Saturday
for the first leg of the 2014 CHAN Qualifiers in Kaduna on Saturday.
Sportdiva.net caught up with some of the
players presently in Kaduna shortly before their final training and they were
all optimistic and believe in nothing but victory.
‘The
current highest goal scorer in the Nigeria Super eagles, Dare Olorundare
expressed his optimism to Sportdiva.net by saying that that he believe
they will qualify, he said ‘’the team is doing well in camp right now, the
spirit is very high’ ‘we are expecting nothing short of victory, we will
qualify by the special grace of God’

Okonkwo was also optimistic on their future encounter with Cote Ivoire, he said ‘we
will play the game well, the spirit in camp is very very high, this is the
third edition of CHAN, we were not at the first and second edition of the
tournament but this is the third edition and no matter what we will qualify and
go to South Africa to play’

Mba a forward with Enugu Rangers said they need to buckle up if they really
want to win the tournament ‘we need to buckle up and fight more than what we
played in AFCON to qualify for the African Nations Cup’
‘We are
prepared and we will play cote Ivoire and we will come out victorious’
Speaking
based on the fact that the Ivorian team has been together for a while and their own
team is just 5days old, Mba said the team will do better no matter how many
days they’ve being together, he said ‘blending together doesn’t mean
anything, we will play them’

Oboabona is also Optimistic he said they are working hard both day and night to
be successful, he said ‘as you can see we are working very hard both day and
night to make sure we are there and by the special grace of God we will make it
there’ he concluded
The Super
eagles will start their campaign for the third edition of CHAN, African Nations
Cup 2014 qualifications in Kaduna on Saturday, Nigeria has never qualified for
the tournament.
