Nigeria will qualify for World Cup - Kanu Nwankwo

Former Eagles skipper Kanu Nwankwo has called on Nigerians to rally round the super weagles casoch and support him.

Speaking to sportdiva.net after the Kenya match in Calabar , he said ‘The boys played well, they had a draw which is better than nothing and of course they are African champions, the pressure is on them but Nigerians want to beat Kenya 4 -0 its football anything can happen’

Talking about his own stand about the team’s performance on Saturday if they can make it to the world cup, Kanu said ‘the team can make it to the world cup, we dominated the game and at the end they played a draw, if they have a good game plan why not they will make it to the world cup’

‘Kenya played a defensive game and it will be difficult to open them, a striker can’t do more or less’

Reacting to peoples anger towards Stephen Keshi for substituting Martins, Kanu said  ‘People will complain, from day one they did and he won the African Cup of Nations and complain isn’t a problem he’s the coach and that’s his decisions and we equalize, we shdnt criticize all d time we should support coach Keshi afterall it’s a new team and it will take some time for them to gel together’

‘Obafemi martins did well but the Kenyans played a defensive game’ was what he said when he was asked to rate Obafemi Martins performance.

The super eagles played draw on Saturday during their first leg match against Kenya for the 2014 FIFA world cup qualifier, the return leg will be played in Nairobi in June this year.
