Interview with Asec Mimosa FC Coach, Siaka Traore

After the Clubs victory during the first leg of CAFs Chamionship in Ouagadougou (2-1 win), ASEC Mimosas struggled tremendously against Rail Club de Kadiogo in Abidjan, on Saturday during the return leg. Below are the words of the Coach to the press after their match:

What are your feelings now that your team has qualified for the Confederation Cup round of sixteen?

Firstly I would like to congratulate my players for this qualification. It was not easy against an opponent that caused quite a lot of problems for us. But, the essential is qualification.

How would you explain your team’s difficulties against an opponent that you actually dominated during the first leg?

I think my players played under pressure. Tactically as well, the instructions were not well respected. It’s normal, since we struggle to retain our team. At each match, we are confronted with difficulties that force us to modify the team.

This allowed Kadiogo to establish his game. It must be said that the opponent’s determination played against us a bit. These are things that we are going to correct for the rest of the competition.
On what level were you placed under difficulty?

Defensively, we weren’t very good. In the midfield, we also lost a lot of balls. These are the things we are going to focus on for the rest of the competition.
Speaking of which, how do you perceive the rest of the competition?

At ASEC, we are used to playing the major roles. There will be no question of us stopping while we are on such a good innings. Our goal is to go as far as possible in all the competitions we are participating in. We will fight boldly for our chance to go as far as possible.
What is your judgement of RC Kadiogo?

They are a good team. They are not leaders of the Burkina Faso championship by chance. They could have qualified without a problem. I congratulate this team and wish them luck for the next time.
