EGUAVOEN CALLS UP 40 TO OLYMPIC CAMP

Austin Eguavoen has called up 40 players for the first phase of preparation for the 2012 Olympic qualifiers.

The squad is populated by players from the Nigeria Premier league, which threw up 23 of the 40, while the First Division has six players.

The rest are from amateur clubs, unattached players and academies, including one player from the Kwara Football Academy and another from St Thomas, a giant-killing club which eliminated Dolphins from the 2000 FA Cup in the first round.

Of the Premier League clubs, Enyimba lead the call-ups with five players. Shooting Stars have three while Ocean Boys, Kano Pillars, Bukola Babes and Kaduna United supply two players each.

The invited players have been directed to report at the Millenium Hotel, Abuja on Monday February 7.
