In the latest monthly FIFA rankings released on Thursday, African champions, the super Eagles of Nigeria moved down three places from its previous position of 28th and are now ranked 31st in the world.
Nigeria with a cumulative point of 785, are also the fourth in the continent behind Cote D’ Ivoire, Ghana and Mali who ranked 13th, 21st and 23rd respectively.
FIFA on their website revealed that the results of 30 friendly matches up to June 2 were used as a parameter for the current edition of the FIFA Ranking, with the results of the FIFA World Cup qualification matches from June 4 to be used for the next edition.
There was no change in the top four with Spain maintaining the number 1 spot, while Germany, Argentina and Croatia followed in that order. Five times world champions and World Cup hosts Brazil dropped to a record low 22nd on the latest ranking making them sandwiched between Ghana and Mali.
