Nigeria tops Group F as Ahmed Musa secures 1-0 victory over Kenya

A lovely chip in the 81st minute by Ahmed Musa was all that was required for Nigeria to secure all three points and a coveted victory over a resilient Kenyan side in a crunch World Cup qualifying match at the Kasarani Stadium on Wednesday.

The first half ended goalless as both sides could not find the net.

The victory thus put Nigeria as clear leaders in Group F with 8 points as their closest rivals Malawi were held to a 0-0 draw by visiting Brave Warriors of Namibia. Malawi is second in the group with 6 points.

With three points in the kitty and some breathing space on top of the log, Coach Stephen Keshi will be glad with Wednesday’s result as the team plans for their next game against Namibia.
