One on One with Sam Sodje

It was not so easy to track him down for an interview but at last it was made possible, Sam took his time to talk about his Family, career and his Contributions towards the less priviledged. Excerpts
WHO IS SAM SODJE?

I am a professional footballer playing for notts county and Nigerian international

WHEN DID YOU PLAYING CAREER BEGIN WHERE?

 In nigeria I started with frangers in Warri, now called Warri Wolves.

WHAT ARE SOME ACHIEVEMENTS PLAYING FOR THE ABOVE MENTIONED CLUBS?

Playing in the premiership for Reading and my home town club Charlton, also playing in the play off final at Wembley for west brom

WHAT'S YOUR STATE WITH THE SENIOR NATIONAL TEAM?

Well I was not available for the last squad as I was injured, towards d end of last season, but pre season has gone well, and I feel strong and fit. I'm looking forward to Nig vs Ghana and hopefully I will be involved in that especially as the game will be London





HOW DOES IT FEEL ONE OF THE SODJES FAMOUSLY KNOWN FOR YOUR INVOLVEMENT IN DIFFERENT SPORT?

It’s amazing and a great feeling, we are all into sport and it’s a passion in the family. We all support each other and drive each other on, we all have different individual strengths and when you combine that you get the Sodjes. It’s a blessing we have been given from above


SAM ARE YOU MARRIED?

Yes I am happily married with a daughter

HOW DOES IT FEEL BE A FATHER AND A HUSBAND?
It’s a great feeling, I love being a family man



WHAT LEGACY WOULD YOU LOVE LEAVE BEHIND?
I will like to be remember as a player that always gave hundred per cent; and achieve something by winning a tournament with the national side, I will also want to be remembered for my contribution towards the Nigerian kids through Sodje Sports Foundation.

 


HOW DO YOU UNWIND?
I usually unwind with my family and I will occasionally go out with my brothers



WHAT WILL BE YOUR PARTING NOTE FOR THE UPCOMING PLAYERS?

To all young players I will always say believe in your ability n never give up the dream
